I trained at Loughborough and Liecester in the 1970's. Since then I have also topped up my training with a part time course at West Notts College, Mansfield, and as a result was accepted into The Society of Designer Craftsmen.
I taught Secondary school Art in Derbyshire and Sheffield until the late 1990's. Since then I have concentrated on developing my own work for sale, teaching Design Development to adults and running workshops for all ages on a freelance basis. The work I do falls into four categories. Please contact me if you are interested in finding out more about any of the following:
Items for Sale, Items for Exhibition, Artist in Residence in Schools
Talks and Workshops

Panels/Hangings
I search land, sea and sky for colour, composition and rythms that will inform my design developments into functional items. Often the first stage of this process results in a two-dimensional work suitable to be wall hung. Sometimes I return to this purely decorative format to further develop the abstract imagery.

Book Covers
Individually designed, reusable and hand washable covers containing a hardback book of acid-free cartridge paper. Available in A6, A5 and square format. Why not commission me to make a cover for your own book?

Bags
A selection of bags, both small and large, all individually handcrafted and original in design and technique. Constructed from painted and machine stitched surfaces on a variety of fabrics. All hand washable. Why not commission me to design and make a special set of accessories to suit an outfit or occassion?

Hats
Sometimes my designs develop into hats. these are available for sale at Harding House Gallery and also at events where I am selling or demonstrating my work. Special occasion hats can be made to measure and individually designed to compliment other fashion items
